The words flow like honey and the novella’s structure resembles an epic poem. A gripping tale of beauty, hedonism, and morality. The story shows the human desire to maintain youth and beauty at the price of one’s soul. It also cautions us to be wary of the dangers of judging by outer appearance and warns us of the inevitable corruption of eternal youth and insurmountable power. After reading, we understand that death, though tragic, can be a welcoming and fitting end to those trapped in the prison of life.
