Book Review: The White Book

<— Back to FULL LIST

Author: Kang, Han (trans. Deborah Smith); 2019

tankforwin’s rating: ⭐⭐ 2/5 (Dated 16 FEB 2022)

A poetic mediation of the author’s focus on white objects with a theme surrounding grief. Half of the left pages in the book are blank and the scarcely ink blotted pages reflect at us with garishly white fragments. The book serves as a thoughtful memoir to the narrator’s loss of prematurely-born older siblings. A quick and abrupt read for those seeking terse literature.
